"Fluke" Holland celebrates 60 years in the music business Saturday, Aug. 16, it will be an achievement few people can claim. at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in downtown Jackson to pay homage.

"The people who are planning this told me there's nothing for me to do that I might as well just sit down and listen," Holland said with a wry smile. "I guess I'll just sit back and watch it happen."

"WS Holland's 60th Rockin' Anniversary" will feature performances by music industry stars including Larry Gatlin (The Gatlin Brothers), Earl Poole Ball (Johnny Cash Band), Dave Roe (The Tennessee 3), Stan Perkins, son of Carl Perkins, Sun Records recording artists Carl Mann (Mona Lisa), Sonny Burgess The Legendary Pacers (Red Headed Woman), Rune Myhren (from Norway the No Cash Band), The Adam Pope Band , Theresa Spanke (Bakersfield, Calif.) and WS Holland The WS Holland Band. Also scheduled to appear is Tommy Cash, younger brother of the late Johnny Cash.

The different eras of Holland's career will be musically highlighted, starting with his years with Carl Perkins on Sun Records, with the famed Million Dollar Quartet session included, followed Achat Kamagra Pas Cher by his 37 years as the only drummer to play for Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Three.

Holland, a spry 79 years old, will get into the act in any event, since he is on the marquee as well with his own band. The spryness is demonstrated by the ease with which he moves through his two story home in Jackson, showing visitors the two rooms he keeps filled with music memorabilia. Drum sets are ready for him to play always, and the afternoon of this interview he was scheduled to meet with his band members to practice for a benefit concert in Nashville for a friend's wife.

Holland pointed to a drum display. "That's the set I played at the White House," he said, constantly moving around. "I call this my Carl Perkins Wall, and this is the Johnny Cash room."

He sat down at a set of drums and demonstrated his technique, filling the room with a quick riff. He continued talking while he played.

He is humble about the anniversary show.

"I am really honored to be doing Methenolone Enanthate Effects this," he said. "I have been really lucky to remember it as well as I have. and Clayton. He played on all of Perkins' Sun releases, including the original "Blue Suede Shoes."

"Music never crossed my mind," he said. At the time of the first recording session at Sun Studios, he was a recent high school graduate who drove a Cadillac "Comprar Gh Jintropin" and worked in air conditioning for a Jackson business. He was a frequent visitor to some of the taverns where Carl Perkins and his band were playing. He would often tap out the rhythm to the music on the frame of the bass player's instrument.

"For some reason I would go to some of the places they were playing," Holland said. "On some of the up tempo songs, I would walk out next to the bass and keep time. When I told him I didn't know how to play, he told me that 'keeping time on the bass like you do, you could play drums.'"

This habit set up a series of events that seemed to contribute to his nickname.

"My nickname is 'Fluke' because everything I ever did seemed like a fluke," he said.

Perkins told him to find a set of drums and go with him and his band to Memphis for a recording session in Sun Studios. Holland had never played any musical instrument. Because he is left handed and had no idea what the proper setup was, his "fluke" arrangement resulted in Holland developing a unique, open armed style of playing that "Comprar Gh Jintropin" became his signature for the next few decades.

"I set up everything in reverse order. Most drummers have a cross arm style of playing. I don't. After I became aware of what I'd done, I didn't want to change because it seemed to work for me," he said.

He recounts another 'fluke' associated with that early effort.

"I asked Carl Perkins once why he picked me to play drums. He told me I was the only one he knew who had a Cadillac. He said that he had always wanted to drive up to Sun Studios to play music for Sam Phillips in a Cadillac. So that was another fluke."

Joyce Holland is responsible for locating a gleaming jukebox displayed in one of the music rooms. It's a 1954 Seeburg, loaded with records of hit music on which Holland played drums. started out in the music industry the same year 1954," she said. "I left empty spaces there for some of the songs we can't find. A lot of these recordings are rare and you can hardly find them and when you do, they want an arm and a leg for them."

"One of the songs we can't find is the very first one, called Movie Magg," Holland said.

He was also the drummer on the "Million Dollar Quartet" session with Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins.

Passing by photographs in the hall of his wife and himself when they were younger, he paused to reflect, pointing first to his photo and then Joyce Holland's.

"You see that, and then you see her. She is a good looking girl. What could she possibly she see in me? In 1959 I met Joyce. She had a house that was paid for. She had a car that was paid for. And, she had a good job. I let her talk me into marrying her."

The Hollands have been married 54 years.

"One "buy cheap jintropin online" of the reasons we have "Buy Cheap Jintropin Online" stayed together is because we have fun together, and we relax together," she said.

When "Blue Suede Shoes" began to wane in popularity as the 1950s ended, Holland had planned to "retire" from the music business and Oral Turinabol 10mg get a job back in Jackson where Masteron With Testosterone he and Joyce lived. Before he could report to a new job working for a land surveyor in 1960, he got a call from Johnny Cash that would change his life. Cash had two important dates booked, and he asked Holland to play drums on this two week trip. That trip started a career with "The Man in Black" that lasted almost 40 years.
